"I am a working Mom. I only get to spend about 4 hours of awake time with my child Monday-Friday, so every hour is precious. When I knew that I was about to get cleared for exercise after my C-Section, I started to look at options. Only 1 came up that didn't involve leaving my child in someone else's care while I worked out: Stroller Strides. From my first class I knew that the class format would work for me, the mix of cardio and resistance training helped me reach two goals by 6 months postpartum: run a 5k and lose all my baby weight. I continued down this path and now call myself a runner, am the weight I was two years before I became pregnant, and have a circle of other active moms in my life. My child has friends whom she adores seeing and I have met so many new people. As a working mom, evening and Saturday classes allow me to put my exercise needs to the top of the to-do-list without sacrificing my limited time with my child."- Alex

"I am a stay at home mom for one very special little boy.  When I quit my job I remember thinking, what on earth am I going to do with my spare time?  Living in AK the winters can get very long, very cold, and very dark....  Once my doctor cleared me for exercise after my C-Section I began the slow hard process of losing all that baby weight.  I would squeeze in 30 minutes here and there on the treadmill, or do a lite DVD..  It never quite seemed like enough for me.  When I started looking into exercise options with a child I came across Stroller Strides.  I started when my son was 5 months old.  I was so excited for the first class, not knowing what to expect.....  Boy was I surprised..  The mixture of cardio and resistance training was exactly what I was looking for.  I walked away from my first class feeling so much better about myself.  I have met some of the nicest, greatest moms.  I get to socialize, exercise, and my son gets to see what healthy living is all about.  Within three months of starting I had lost the rest of my baby weight and then some.  Stroller Strides has helped me live a healthier, happier life.  I have made friends, gotten some great advice, and I feel like I am part of something very special.  Stroller Stride moms are a special group that I feel privileged to be a part of. "Five…five is the number of times I’ve moved in the last six years since my husband joined the Army, but this latest move was different than all the others. I was no longer just a few hundred miles away from friends and family, no I found myself about two thousand miles away with a newborn. As we settled into our new house I started looking for gyms and exercise programs to help me lose my pregnancy weight. I soon found Stroller Strides and thought it was the best program for me. Being a first time mom I was not mentally ready to leave my newborn with a sitter or at a gym day care. I tried out Stroller Strides and was hooked from the very first class. I had a blast in fact. I had no idea that exercising could be so fun to include entertaining the children at the same time by singing, blowing bubbles, tickling, and shaking our wiggles out, and still manage to get a full workout in. When I started attending I always walked, moved to speed walking, and now you will find me jogging through most classes. One of my fitness goals was to run a mile without having to walk part of it. One evening class, Chandra our instructor ran every step of that mile right beside me with her children chanting in her stroller “Go Momma’s Go.” Not only did I complete my goal I finished it with a great time. My current goal is to prepare for a 5K. In the next few months my husband will deploy for the second time. You can never be fully prepared for your spouse to be in harms way for a full year, but the mothers and children of Stroller Strides will be part of my support system. I know they are there for me, to provide friendship, play dates, dinners out, and to lead me to be a healthy active mommy." -Amber
