1. Does my child have to stay in the stroller during class?
Yes. All kids must be in the stroller for the body of class. At one of our indoor locations - the AT&T Sports Pavilion - we have the space to use for 1/2 hour before and 1/2 hour after class. If your schedule allows, this is a great play opportunity!
2. Do I have to have a jogging stroller?
No. Any sturdy, stable stroller that accommodates your kid(s) that you are comfortable pushing at a brisk power walk pace. Many of our moms do *choose* to jog but it is not necessary to run for you to get a GREAT workout!
3. What should I bring to class?
Workout clothes and shoes, a water bottle, a sturdy stroller big enough to contain your kiddo(s), and a mat or towel for abs and stretching on the ground. Most of the older kids enjoy having snack options and some small toys or books during class - we also sing, blow bubbles and do lots of other entertaining things to keep them amused. We have extra resistance bands for you to use, if you register for a membership you will receive your own set.
4. How do I know if the class will be inside or outside?
- Check the Facebook page; we will always post an hour before class if we will be changing location. If for any reason class is ever cancelled, it will also be posted here.
- Call 888-605-7860 and press 2 for a recorded message
5. What is Luna Moms Club?
Sponsored by Luna, every franchise across the country includes a Luna Moms Club. In Anchorage, we meet on Wednesdays after class to let the kids play together. Sometimes we have a simple craft, sometimes a game or other activity, sometimes we just let them run around. We also have one Moms Night Out event each month, these will be posted on our facebook page and will also appear in our monthly newsletter and calendar.
6. I am nervous about working out again after a long time off. What if the classes are too hard?
One of the best things about this program is its suitability for ANY level of exerciser. We bring you the workout, you choose the intensity level. We have walkers and runners, those who want a high impact workout and those who want a no-impact workout, those recovering from C-section surgery - you name it, we can give you alternatives to every exercise to suit your needs!
7. When can I start?
As with any exercise program, you should consult with your health care provider before beginning, especially recently postpartum moms MUST obtain their doctor's clearance before their first class, this will typically be at the six-week postpartum visit but may be later or earlier depending on each mom's health and birth experience.
